1.83.125
11/3/2007 |
-
HTML refresh fix for WM 2002 - WM
2002 did not refresh the HTML page on IE explorer when opening the
same htm file even though it changed. This has been fixed.
-
Made improvements to browser
support. With the advent of some excellent mobile browsers,
BeeLineGPS will now use the default browser to display Geocaching
information.
-
Fixed the duplicate time and time
management in the track log. On some systems, the time would not
update from the GPS as it should had. This had to do with the time
from the GPGGA and the GPRMC and when BeeLineGPS would parse the
data.
-
Fixed KML export to not include
the comma before a carriage return for a <LineString>. It seems the
Google Earth did not mind, however Google Map did. This is fixed.
This
link is an example of a KML output from BeeLineGPS as shown in
google-map.
-
Fixed Active Waypoint distance
GPX import. It seems that BeeLineGPS would export the data, but not
import the distance data and use the default. This has been fixed.

1.82.121

-
Made modifications to the track
filter where the GPS course calculation was separated from the track
filter. This will give more control to the GPS course calculation if
the user chooses to use that function. These changes can be found in
menu item "Tools->Configuration->Map Properties" and tap on the
Filters tab.
-
Fixed bug - This was an
interesting bug where a standard control (Time and Date Picker)
cause a dialog to assert an error in the "Edit Waypoint" dialog. The
Geocaching tab included the Time and Date picker to mark the found
time of a chache. If no dialogs were invoked before the edit
waypoint dialog was shown, click on the Geocache tab made it
disappear. However if another dialog was invoked (like the about box
or warning dialog), this bug did not show itself. It has to do with
the MS DLL initialization. This bug is now fixed.
-
Added Feature - There are may GPS
receivers that are based on the SiRF
GPS Chipset. A SiRF setup dialog has been added to control WAAS, Static Navigation and NMEA output rates. Some SiRF based GPS
receivers are shipped with Static Navigation enabled. If enabled,
the GPS invokes position filters tuned for vehicle navigation.
For pedestrian usage, make sure that the Static Navigation
mode is disabled. You can get to this dialog by selecting menu item
"Tools->GPS->Manufacture Specific->Setup SiRF Parameters...".
-
License key will not be "sticky"
- you will have to reenter the license key for this version but
subsequent versions you will not have to.
|
1.81.125
6/10/2007 |
- Version 1.81.117 introduced a bug when a
waypoint icon was created. When the "Set icon to geocache state" was
set, the icon would default to an archive state. This has been
fixed.
|
1.81.117
6/8/2007 |
- BeeLineGPS color scheme will adapt to system
color theme.
- Fixed Archived/Not Active automatic
geocaching icon. The icon should reflect a archived or non-active
cache.
|
1.81.105
5/25/2007 |
- One feature that has been requested was the "Smooth
Gauge Mode". This mode will animate the panel gauges by slewing to
the new value rather than jumping to the next value. This mode
should only be used for high performance device because it is CPU
intensive. To access this mode tap-and-hold on the Panel window and
select menu item "Setup Gauges->Enable Smooth Mode". Please note
that this mode will not function when multiple gauges are visible on
the screen.
- WM5 had introduced a problem in selecting
from a list of items. Normally you could select an item in a list
and press the center joystick key to select that item. It did not
function that way in WM5. This has been fixed.
- Made changes to the map screen
navigation windows. It is now more like the trip computer. It will
also reposition itself to the right size of the windows if it is in
landscape mode or if the map is wider then taller.
- The track manager will now keep the time of
each new position point. The time is extracted from the GPRMC since
this sentence holds the complete date and time. When exporting
tracks for GSV or GPX, the time will be included for each point. As
for KML files, it was not clear where and how to add a time for each
point of a "LineString".
- This version adds some GUI enhancements.
Specifically a navigation (trip computer) window in the Panel tab. Like
the Trip tab, the navigation window will allow you to
setup each field to one of many trip items as well as disable the
window. Use the tap-and-hold feature over the navigation window to
select from a menu of items.

1.80.107
3/6/2007 |
Version 1.80.115 - Removed debug code in the GPX
export code. All the rest is the same as 1.80.107
Since UTF-8 and UNICODE is supported now, this
version supports a new waypoint database format. It is suggested that
you backup your current waypoint database before running this new
version.
- Fixed memory leak in the new GUI interface
that was introduced in version 1.78.
- Added UTF-8 and UNICODE support for the waypoint
database. The UTF-8/UNICODE fix also fixed the WM 2002 corrupt looking web
pages.
|
1.79.105
2/19/2007 |
Please uninstall any BeeLineGPS versions
before 1.77 when installing this version.
|
- Fixed some typos
- Added better support for GPS receivers that
have more than 12 channels. Some GPS receivers will make use of the
16 possible channels in the GPGSV NMEA sentence.
|
1.78.117
1/23/2007 |
- Fixed install - Version 1.78.115 had an
installation error where by most of the files had the read-only flag
set. This caused BeeLineGPS not to show the Geocaching data and show
an error message. This was due to the read only flag set in the HTML
file that it tried to write to. This has been fixed and tested.
|
1.78.115
1/21/2007 |
The install for this version had a bug in it --
all the files that were installed had the read-only flag causing
problems during runtime. Please uninstall this version and download the
latest.
- Fixed typos
- Added Waypoint icon - Ferry (
)
|
1.78.105
12/9/2006 |
- Added Export track to Google KML format -
Select menu item "Tools->Track->Export Track->Export to KML file..."
- Added waypoint icons - Ship Wreck (
),
Castle ( ), Tower ( ),
Roundabout ( ),
Ruins ( ) City (small( ),

- Added GPX track export
- Added Trip Items: Time (12 hour/24 hour and
UTC), ETA (12 Hour/24 hour), Battery status
- Fixed track file save - will not write "zero"
position records
- Created a more aggressive GPS search.
BeeLineGPS will now search all serial ports between 0 and 32 to try
to find the GPS.
- Modified the disclaimer nag screen to only
show every 10 executions
- Made more GUI improvements (Analysis screen,
choose waypoint dialog and other minor adjustments)
- Retained the column widths in the waypoint
manager when modified.
- Added GUI to the waypoint manager to allow
you to display more or less fields. Also the order of the fields are
programmable. To setup the field order, expand the toolbox in the
Waypoint Manager, select the list info tab and then click on the
"Arrange Columns" button.
- Have deleted the Sig/NaV and Azmth/Elvn tabs
and created a new tab called "GPS". This tab will hold all the same
information as the originals, but the screens can be switched by
tapping on them. These screens are resolution and DPI independent.

1.77.100
8/14/2006 |
- Added additional trip items - Max/Min
Altitude and Total ascent/descent
- Added - "Disable automatic power suspend"
(select menu item Tools->Configuration->Miscellaneous Settings)
- Enhanced compass
- Enhanced horizontal scaling for Analysis
Screen.
- Fixed sluggish waypoint arrival trigger.
- Made enhancements to compass.
- Added new trip field - % Slope Grade (Grade,
Max Grade, Min Grade and Average Grade).
- Modified the GPS auto-reconnect so it will
only try twice and then prompt the user to continue or not.
- Since the feature was added to manage
several waypoint databases, there is a possibility that the current
database file directory does not exist due to the removal of a
memory card or the directory was deleted. UI has been added to allow
the user to specify a new database file to write to.
- The tabs at the top of the main screen
windows can be hidden. To hide or view tabs, use menu item
"Tools->View->Window Tabs". This is a toggle function. You can still
navigate to each page by using the left and right joystick keys.
- Added a setting to allow overwrite of
waypoints during an import. In some cases it may be advantageous to
overwrite existing waypoints during an import. This setting can be
found in menu item "Tools->Configuration->Import Waypoint
Settings...".
- Added a new window tab - Analysis (screen
shots). This window was added based on user requests. Although
this window is not complete, I've added it for your comments,
correctness and additional wants. The analysis window will plot
various parameters such as speed, altitude, acceleration and other
parameters. The window will allow you to select the screen layout as
well as the plot type for each pane.
* Altitude plot can sample by sample or by distance. These
parameters are adjustable.
- Retained the distance in the registry for the
waypoint manager list by distance.
- Added icons - Beach (
),
Church ( ),
Jewish Temple ( ),
Mosque ( ),
Buddhist Temple ( ),
Projected Waypoint ( ),
Microphone( ),
Speaker( )
- Fixed "Geocache not fond" to "Geocache not
found" in the Geocache state drop down list in the edit dialog.
- Added waypoint projection from an existing
waypoint.
- Converted additional <sym> waypoints while
importing GPX/XML files in to BeeLineGPS waypoint icons.
- Added the ability to control where the
database file and track file is kept. This function is found in menu
item "Tools->File Operations->Waypoint Database" and the track file
is located in menu item "Tools->Track->Track File".
- Added an automatic GPS reconnect after lost
connection. On some units when the power is lost, the serial
connection is lost as well. BeeLineGPS will try to reestablish
connection. It has been found that on some Bluetooth hardware there
are awkward waits (5 to 10 seconds) before this connection is
established. This feature can be enabled or disabled (default) in
menu item Tools->Setup Serial Port (Comm Port)
- There were a couple of complaints about the
update of the compass and map where it had a lag to it. The position
filter would not update the course or the map track until the
position changed at lease 5 meters. The position filter can be
disabled and it's found in menu item "Tools->Configuration->Map
Properties". When disabled, the map track would update at any
distance interval. However, the course still updated at 5 meters.
This was a bug and fixed.

- Waypoint manager modification - Added a search
filter
- Waypoint manager modification - Enhanced
toolbox where multiple tabs have been added.
- Waypoint manager modification - Added Tap
and Hold (TAH) context menu on the waypoint list
- Waypoint manager modification - The waypoint
list now covers the "toolbox" area to increase viewable area. This is
to allow square resolution devices to have more viewing area for the
waypoint list. A "drop-down" button has been added to display the
toolbox or stuff it away.
- There were some complaints that BeeLineGPS was
"locking" up when connected to certain GPS hardware (Bluetooth and
virtual ports). The serial port thread has been reorganized to work
around inconsistencies with hardware.

1.51.100
7/15/2005 |
- Added the ability to disable the position
filter. This item is found in the Map Properties dialog. The
Position Filter is normally enabled. When enabled, the track log
and trip computer will only update new positions when moving more
than 5 meters (5 meter quantization). This helps eliminate GPS
position noise when not moving. This has been the normal mode of
operation for BeeLineGPS from the beginning. When Disabled, all
positions updates from the GPS receiver are used in the track log
and trip computer no matter how small.

Enhanced CSV import - Selectable
formats: Latitude, Longitude, Name or Longitude, Latitude, Name. More
will be added as needed.
-
Replaced the MS XML parser with
a high performance streamed XML parser - This is
used for the GPX import. However, the MS implementation did not make
good use of memory and was replaced with a high performance streamed
XML parser.

Major change in the Runtime Waypoint Database access where substantial
speed improvement affects waypoint access and waypoint GUI interface
for large databases.
- Redesigned the Waypoint Database runtime access.
Database should handle large amount (5000) of waypoints and not
cause too much of a performance hit.
- Added import of CSV files. For now, there
is a fixed format where the first line is "Field descriptions"
and the subsequent lines are data where the first field is
longitude, second field is latitude and the third field is the
waypoint name. IE: 117.556656, 33.669594, "My Waypoint"
